{"id":18789,"date":"1995-11-11T17:08:56","date_gmt":"1995-11-11T09:08:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/benayoun.com\/moben\/1995\/11\/11\/the-big-questions\/"},"modified":"2017-05-02T16:23:57","modified_gmt":"2017-05-02T08:23:57","slug":"the-big-questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/benayoun.com\/fr\/1995\/11\/11\/the-big-questions\/","title":{"rendered":"The Big Questions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><strong>LES\u00a0GRANDES\u00a0QUESTIONS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Dieu est-il plat ?<\/li>\n<li>le Diable est-il courbe ?<\/li>\n<li>Et moi dans tout \u00e7a ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En novembre 1994, lors de l&#8217;exposition Artifices 3, qui pr\u00e9sentait \u00e0 Saint Denis douze installations artistiques interactives, Maurice Benayoun nous soumettait un premier dispositif de r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle produit par Z.A Production : Dieu est-il plat ?<\/p>\n<p>C&#8217;\u00e9tait le d\u00e9but d&#8217;une d\u00e9marche qui trouvait son prolongement lors d&#8217;Imagina 1995 \u00e0 Monte Carlo sur le stand CANAL + avec le Diable est-il courbe ?<\/p>\n<p>Dans la construction de l&#8217;espace, ces dispositifs de R\u00e9alit\u00e9 Virtuelle (V.R) sont fond\u00e9s sur le m\u00eame principe: nous sommes dans une pi\u00e8ce ferm\u00e9e o\u00f9 nous pouvons creuser des couloirs en temps r\u00e9el dans une mati\u00e8re tridimensionnelle.<\/p>\n<p>La base de donn\u00e9es architecturale est reconstruite \u00e0 chaque image. Le spectateur peut choisir toutes les directions dans le plan horizontal. Les couloirs construits restent en m\u00e9moire et peuvent se recouper jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 constituer un espace architectur\u00e9 d&#8217;une grande complexit\u00e9. Nous effectuons donc l&#8217;\u00e9quivalent d&#8217;op\u00e9rations bool\u00e9ennes en temps r\u00e9el. D&#8217;autre part, la mati\u00e8re dans laquelle nous creusons est une texture 3D, c&#8217;est \u00e0 dire qu&#8217;elle reste coh\u00e9rente quelque soit l&#8217;axe de coupe. Dans Dieu est-il plat ? nous creusons dans de la brique, dans Le Diable est-il courbe ? nous creusons dans le ciel bleu parsem\u00e9 de nuages blancs. Dans Et moi dans tout \u00e7a ? (sur Internet) nous ne creusons plus du tout, et ce n&#8217;est pas plus mal.<\/p>\n<p>Cette performance technique est due \u00e0 la comp\u00e9tence et \u00e0 l&#8217;efficacit\u00e9 de Patrick Bouchaud et Richard Mercille qui ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 la chose pour ce projet en un temps record. En compl\u00e9ment de ce travail, le Diable est-il courbe? est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 Z.A Production par David Nahon pour la partie comportementale et J\u00e9r\u00f4me Felix pour la partie sonore.<\/p>\n<p>On le comprend, ces r\u00e9alisations qui sortent du champ balis\u00e9 financi\u00e8rement des pr\u00e9occupations industrielles, n&#8217;auraient pu voir le jour sans la collaboration active de Silicon Graphics France et Silicon Graphics Europe qui ont mis leur comp\u00e9tence et leur mat\u00e9riel au service du projet.
